Quebec – The Call of the Atlantic Salmon
Sooner or later, every angler feels the need to try and catch an Atlantic salmon. With that idea firmly in mind, I travelled to Quebec. I still remember the emotion of arriving on the riverbank for the first time and seeing the first fish holding in the current.
The water was so clear that the salmon seemed to be floating in mid-air. A sight that stays with you and immediately makes you understand why this fish has such a legendary status.
Salmon fishing can be deeply frustrating. Long hours, perfect presentations, and often no response at all. But the charm and the myth that have always surrounded this incredible creature were more than enough to draw me to these extraordinary places. There is something timeless about Atlantic salmon, something that speaks directly to an angler’s soul.
And then it finally happened. The moment I hooked my first Atlantic salmon, I can honestly say that my knees were shaking. Pure emotion, disbelief, and adrenaline all at once. A single fish capable of justifying every mile travelled and every hour spent waiting.
An encounter that marks you forever and reminds you why some dreams are worth chasing, no matter how difficult they are to achieve.
