Fly Fishing the Mountain Creeks

Northern Italy is crossed by dozens of mountain creeks. Naming them all would be almost impossible. Each one is different, and that is part of their charm.

Some carry a surprising amount of water. Others are small, intimate streams where every pool can hide a trout. What they have in common is beautiful scenery, clear water and a very natural style of fishing.

These creeks can be particularly good during the summer months, when they often provide plenty of activity even when conditions on the larger rivers become more complicated.

Dry fly fishing is usually the first choice. Large, visible flies can work extremely well, and a dry-dropper setup is another very effective way to explore these waters.

These waters are fun to fish and suitable for every level. Beginners can quickly get into the action, while experienced anglers can enjoy a very visual and instinctive style of fishing.

There isn’t one single mountain creek that we always fish. The destination is chosen according to the season, water levels and current conditions. With dozens of possibilities available, there is almost always somewhere worth exploring.
